FAQ & Troubleshooting

  • Wait a few minutes: new sources are checked shortly after you add them.
  • Check the topic’s Status is Active on its Details tab.
  • Check the whitelist: when it has items, only posts matching one of them are kept.
  • Check the Age Filter and Language Filter on the Filters tab.
  • For YouTube, enter the channel or playlist ID, not its address. See Input feeds.
  • The item may be hidden (greyed out with a Hidden badge), or the topic’s Display may be Hidden. Show the items you want.
  • Check the widget’s Topics tab: most widget types show only the first topic you selected.
  • Widgets and the API can take a minute or so to pick up changes. Reload the page.

You can’t rename a topic. To stop one, set its Status to Inactive: it stops collecting new posts. To take its content off your site, remove it from your widgets.

How do I add a colleague or a new project?

Section titled “How do I add a colleague or a new project?”

Contact your LoopFeed account manager. Accounts and projects are set up by LoopFeed.

  • Paste the snippet into your page’s HTML, not into a rich-text editor that may strip <script> tags.
  • Check the data-loopfeed-widget value matches the widget ID in the <script> address.
  • If your site has a Content Security Policy, allow LoopFeed’s domains. See Embed the widget.
  • Check the widget has a topic on its Topics tab, and the topic has visible items.
  • Ad and content blockers can block widgets for some readers.

I changed a widget’s settings but my site still shows the old ones

Section titled “I changed a widget’s settings but my site still shows the old ones”

Settings can take up to 5 minutes to reach readers who’ve loaded the widget before. Reload after a few minutes.

A YouTube video won’t play in the widget

Section titled “A YouTube video won’t play in the widget”

Some channels don’t allow their videos to play on other sites. Use Test embed on the item in the queue to check before you pin it, and hide videos that show Embedding blocked.

Why does an item have no content type or match?

Section titled “Why does an item have no content type or match?”
  • AI curation must be on for your organization. See Turning it on.
  • Only posts from the sources LoopFeed curates are labelled.
  • The AI leaves a label out when it isn’t sure. Look for AI suggestions on the item.
  • Round-ups of several matches get no match, nor do posts that only name teams by nickname or hashtag.

Click the label or open Edit Metadata to fix it. Your fix is kept for your topic and the AI never overwrites it. See Fixing a label.

Every page of the Content API starts with the same items

Section titled “Every page of the Content API starts with the same items”

Those are the topic’s pinned items: they come first in every response. Skip items with pinned: true after the first page, or remove duplicates by id. See How pinned items work.

  • Send it in the X-Api-Key header, from your server. Browsers can’t send it.
  • Check in Settings → API Keys that the key is Active and hasn’t expired.

What’s the difference between the Content API and the Feed API?

Section titled “What’s the difference between the Content API and the Feed API?”

The Content API returns your topics’ content, as you curated it. The Feed API is a paid add-on: it returns every post LoopFeed’s AI has matched to a match, team, player or competition, from all the sources LoopFeed curates, without setting up topics.

Where do I find team, competition and match IDs?

Section titled “Where do I find team, competition and match IDs?”
